Learn how engineering is made of everyday math! Can you calculate the mathematical constraints and linear programming to design a snack package that, when mailed to our school, safely ships the chips? Would you be able to use the slope/intercept form to determine how to safely create a bungee jump for a Barbie doll without a fatality on the first try? Math is all around you, but it's up to you to use to solve the engineering problems.

Packaging companies must take into account the cost of supplies needed to fill packaging, the cost of packaging, the space provided inside the box, all while trying to make the most profit for their product(s). All of these constraints can be accounted for and calculated into linear programming.
