Welcome to Advanced Placement Computer Science! This is a rigorous, college-level course that will prepare you for the advanced placement test on Friday, May 8, 2019 at 12:00 noon. Advanced placement exams are graded on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest. My goal is for each of you to earn a 5 on the “Computer Science A” exam. This course is approximately equivalent to a first semester computer science college course.
It is great that you are enrolled in this class, especially if you are planning to go on in college to study math, engineering, or computer science. There, computer science is almost always part of the curriculum and knowing how to program walking in the door is so important because most of your classmates will have programmed before, sometimes extensively.
