Hockey: Students will learn how to pass, shoot, and stick handle while keeping their head up to see the floor. They will also learn the concept of offense, defense, and goalie play.
Volleyball :During this unit students will learn the bump, set, and serve as the basic skills. They will also learn how to rotate servers, keep score, and the rules of a volleyball game.
Dance: Students will learn to move to music and use their arms and legs to dance along with the music. We will cover movements from older generations up to dances that are current to our student's generation.
Tiger ball: Students will first learn the correct way to throw and catch a football. They will then progress to a game where they have to throw and catch to try and get the ball to the other end of the gym to try and score points for their team. We will stress the importance of teamwork as well as offense and defense.
Team Handball: Students will learn how to pass, bounce pass, guard another player, and defend their goal. They will also learn offensive and defensive strategies of moving up and down the floor.
Basketball: Students will learn how to dribble, pass, and shoot using the correct form. This unit is mainly focused on the skills and game play is a very small part of the unit. We will touch on offensive and defensive responsibilities, but the focus is on skills. We will expose students to many different activities that stress performing the skills properly.
Lacrosse: Students will learn to properly hold the stick and how to maneuver the stick for success. They will also learn how to catch, throw, and pass the ball to other players. Offense, defense, and game play will be covered as they practice and progress towards actual games.
Bowling: Students will learn the three and five step approach to releasing the ball. They will also learn where to position themselves for different kinds of spares. Students will also learn how to keep score the old-fashioned way by using a pencil and basic math.
Soccer: Students will learn how to pass, trap, kick, and dribble the ball. They will also learn rules, offense and defense, goalie play, and how to move without the ball.
Mini-Golf: Students will learn the correct way to hold a putter and how to properly use the club to navigate the 18 hole course. Students will also learn how to keep score and will be given the opportunity to use their creative skills to design the holes as they like.
