DUAL CREDIT (JUNIORS/SENIORS)

Dual credit courses are available for current Junior and Seniors enrolled in RCS Virtual School. All  of our dual credit courses are through WVU Tech. Students will receive their required high school credit and a 3-hour college credit upon completion of these courses with a passing grade. Students are only allowed to take TWO dual credit courses per semester and must have a 3.0 GPA. Dual credit courses are intended for the highly motivated, college bound students.

If you have not requested a dual credit course, you must complete a schedule change request with your school counselor, to build those in their schedule if there are available seats.  We will be releasing information and directions on schedule changes at a further time.

JUNIORS

If you are a Junior, your dual credit options through Tech are: Psychology and Sociology.  Each course is a semester and only ONE is needed to receive your 3rd social studies credit as a high school student. However, you may take the additional dual credit course as an early college credit advantage.

SENIORS

If you are a Senior, your dual credit options through Tech are: Psychology, Sociology, College Algebra, Civics, English 101 and 102. Each course is a semester.

College Algebra will count as your 4th High School Math credit.

English 101 and 102 together will count as your 4th High School English credit.

Seniors, if you are planning to take Civics as a dual credit, you will need to sign up for: POLS 102 Intro American Government

Dual credit Courses through Tech will each cost $25 a credit hour plus a book purchase/fee. You will pay for the course through WVU Tech after you are registered.

If you requested WVU Tech Dual Credit Courses when you completed course requests for this year, you need to complete your early enrollment application and registration through WVU Tech now.
