STUDY PROJECTS

In addition to learning activities and elective modules, all students can design their own personal learning path through study projects. The aim of study projects is to support the deepening of students' general competences and thereby enhance the development of learners' interdisciplinary problem-solving competence.

During study projects, students gain experience in how to apply what they have learned in learning activities and elective modules to life, develop general competences, cooperation and communication skills, entrepreneurship and sustainability-related skills. During learning projects, opportunities are sought to contribute to the community, and learning takes place through collaboration and co-creation.

Each student is obliged to participate in at least one study project in both the G1 and G3 academic years. One study project requires the student to work for one course. The topics of study projects are announced at the end of the previous trimester. The topics of study projects are proposed by teachers, external experts and partners, supported by the study project coordinator, or students. In the latter case, students must be prepared to supervise the project themselves and, in cooperation with the learning project coordinator, a suitable project mentor will be found for them. The study project can be supervised by G3 students who have participated in a study project themselves in the G1 academic year. Supervision of a learning project by a student corresponds to one elective module course.

The study project is opened when at least 15 students have registered for it. No more than 18 students can participate in one study project. The study project supervisors are responsible for ensuring that the proposed learning project is sufficiently challenging, supports the integration of different subjects, supports research and planning activities, cooperation, communication skills and other general competencies.

During the study project, students formulate the goal of the project, search for additional information necessary for the implementation of the project and plan the project schedule, implement the project activities, reflect and reflect on what happened and what was learned during the project. During the study project, a learning portfolio confirming the learning process is completed, which may consist of a work, prototype, solution, and is supplemented by a reflection prepared by each student, which may be a learning diary kept during the project, a log with self-reflection. The learning portfolio created during the learning project complements the student's personal learning portfolio, which collects everything created during their learning activities throughout high school.
