Ballot by Mail

To be eligible to vote early by mail in Texas, you must:

be 65 years or older;
be disabled;
be out of the county on Election Day and during the period for Early Voting by personal appearance; or
be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible

The last day to receive an application for ballot by mail is Friday, October 24, 2025.

THIS IS A TAX INCREASE. Ratifying the ad valorem tax rate of $0.8443 per $100 valuation in Rains Independent School District for the current year, a rate that will result in an increase of 4.99 percent in maintenance and operations tax revenue for the district for the current year as compared to the preceding year, which is additional $338,756.
