Mr. Matthew Landrum started teaching at Middletown Area in the Fall of 2021. He has 6 years of teaching experience as a middle school band director at Reading School District. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Liberty University and Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Messiah College. Since becoming part of the Middletown Area School District family Mr. Landrum has taken on the roles as Marching Band, Concert  Band,  Jazz Band, and Pit director. Mr. Landrum was also a Co-Director of the schools 2022 musical Little Shop of Horrors. 

Outside of school, Mr. Landrum is a freelance trumpet player. He has performed with many groups, churches, and organizations such as; Servant Stage Company, The Fulton Theatre, Lancaster Symphony,  Ephrata Performing Arts Center, Gretna Theatre, Lancaster Bible College, Duke Street Deacons, and The Unforgettable Big Band. Mr. Landrum also enjoys coffee, riding his motorcycle, and cooking. Being a native of Texas his favorite sports teams include the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers. However, since moving to Pennsylvania he found a love for watching hockey and cheering for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
