What: Constitutional Speech Contest where contestants can receive scholarship money up to $25,000.
Who: All 9th-12th grade students (not over the age of 20)
When: Registration late September - mid November

Zone: February (winner receives $500 and moves onto state, runner up receives $100)
States: March (1st place $2,000; 2nd place $1,500; 3rd-5th place $1,000 each)
Nationals: April (an additional $2,000 per round; 1st place $25,000; 2nd place $22,500; 3rd place $20,000)

What: The American Legion Boys State is a non-partisan, non-political mock government exercise in a model state designed to mirror the structure and operation of its respective state government. It is intended to instill character, the importance of civic engagement and patriotism among rising high school seniors. Students can earn a Samsung Scholarship up to $10,000.
Who: High School Juniors going into their senior year.

What: ALA Girls State is a unique and exciting government-inaction learning program in which ALA members guide young women to become patriotic, knowledgeable stewards of freedom and democracy.
Who: All 11th grade girls and age 17 (or completed junior year by May 2019. Should have an interest in Law, Government or Leadership)

What: The American Legion, in partnership with the Michigan State Police, provide an opportunity for high school students to learn about a career in law enforcement. Students spend one week at the Michigan State Police Training site learning many aspects of a law enforcement career.
Who: High School students that are going into their 10th, 11th or 12th grade year.
