Mrs. Swisstack

The Art Club meets once a week in the art room. In the past we have done several types of projects, that include sewing, drawing and painting as well as helping out with set pieces for the play.

The Drama Club works to provide high quality dramatic programming at the beginner and intermediate levels. It pledges to offer participants the chance to experience the excitement and rewards of theatre arts while developing poise, social skills, confidence and the ability to work with others.

Gospel Chorus is an extracurricular activity. It is open to anyone who loves to sing and spread joy through music. We sing current and traditional gospel music. The Gospel Chorus performs at the annual Rahway Academy Black History Showcase in February.

Mrs. Van Wyk

The Academy Jazz Band is the performing ensemble that allows you to experience one of America's most cherished original art forms: JAZZ.

You'll become a 'jazzer' as we enjoy exploring the vast array of jazz styles, history, culture and improvisation.

Jazz Band begins in October with auditions after school, then meets weekly after school for a 45 minute rehearsal that prepares us to perform at our Winter Concert, Spring Concert and Annual Black History Month Showcase. Additional opportunities are announced each year as well, so check us out!
