I started my writing life at a local newspaper when I was twelve. Coming back to journalism as an adult felt like the story writing itself. I currently freelance for the Standard-Examiner and Daily Herald (sister papers under Ogden Newspapers) as well as my own independent publication called Sanpete Serves. My coverage focuses on local government, community events, and the people and policies shaping the region. Previously, I wrote as a Staff Writer for the Sanpete Messenger, where I covered city council meetings, school board sessions, public forums, and feature stories. I also handled photography, AP style editing, and contributed to the publication's operational development.
