Mrs. Lena Bergo
SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
My name is Lena Bergo and I am the School Psychologist for the Rushford-Peterson School District. This is my third year as a school psychologist in Rushford. I was a teacher for 12 years previous to that at Lanesboro Schools. I live in Pilot Mound with my family, which includes my husband, Ryker, my youngest son, Zeke (11), and my daughter, Wren (5). My oldest son Hunter (19) was taken from us in an accident when he was 10, but continues to live on within us for every step of our journey here on earth. I have an Education Specialist Degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where I also had previously attained my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with a Grief Specialist Certification as well. My favorite things in the world include going on adventures in nature with my kids, reading, writing, listening to music, and gardening! I love being a Trojan and am so grateful to get to work with so many wonderful students, families, staff, and community members.
As a school psychologist, my services include social/emotional (SEL) and academic support, individual and group counseling, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) leadership, SEL and academic assessment, and psychoeducational evaluations.
I believe every human being is on a journey of finding their own uniqueness, purpose, and interests, and the job of education is to create an environment in which those things and our connectedness to one another can flourish. My purpose always remains to foster a sense of belonging, compassion, healing, and wholeness both within ourselves and within our systems.
