We, the students in the African Studies class chose "The Freedom & Flow Wing" as the name of our virtual museum wing because it reflects the powerful connection between artistic expression and the fight for liberation in African and African American history. Our contributions—exploring the origins of African masks, the significance of musical dances of freedom, and the impact of civil rights activists—highlight how culture, movement, and activism have been deeply intertwined in the pursuit of justice and identity. The name "Freedom & Flow" symbolizes both the resilience and rhythm of Black history, where artistic traditions and social movements have continuously shaped and inspired the struggle for equality.
