High-Frequency Words, also known as "Snap" Words, are words your child should be able to read and spell in a "snap". Kindergarten and First Grade focused on being able to read these words, and in second grade we build on that foundation by expecting the children to consistently spell them correctly as well. Each week we will have a short list of up to 10 words as our focus. Throughout the week, please plan on practicing these words with your child as they will be assessed each Friday. The complete list is available to the left, and the weekly words will be listed on your child's homework sheet that you'll see come home every Monday.
