The proposed body solution is based on the idea of applying translucent "leather" (outer surface of the body) to a solid frame (car body frame). Frame construction is not a conceptually new idea. In the early days of motoring, frame constructions were absolutely essential. Body panels and glass were mounted on these frames. New is the idea of creating a one-piece body surface. This can only be done by taking the body as a single piece of glass (polycarbonate). This translucent leather (SKIN) is mounted on a solid frame, which completely covers it. The robot then mills the side and rear doors into polycarbonate, which are mounted on frames, which are then (electro) mechanically attached to the skeleton (FRAME).
