I love that homeschooling can be custom tailored to our children, and allows us the ability to change the way we teach them as we find the best ways they learn. There’s so much joy in watching their curiosity spark and ignite when they find something that truly interests them, or a concept “clicks” that they’ve been working on. I also think there’s something to be said about the ability to snuggle in on the couch, read together, and learn as a family.
We have a large family, and some of my favorite homeschool memories have been times we are all on the couch, excitedly learning about something new or reading a story that transforms us to a different time and place. Most importantly, it’s so nice to have the blessing of more time together as a family. I love being present for all these special moments, and I cherish them and am so thankful we get to learn together. Teaching my children how to read and hearing them read their first words is exciting every single time. My children’s bonds to each other are so strong, and watching them learn and grow and find their passions has been a gift.
The PEARL program has been a fantastic support as well. Having the encouragement of kind and knowledgeable PEARL teachers is so valuable, and makes my kids want to try harder. We are so thankful for homeschooling and all the incredible ways it has benefited our family.
