What makes superheroes so likeable?

Usually what we love about superheroes is that they help people! If that is a big part of being a superhero, we can all be one, even online!

• Helped him change his password to be secure.

• Protected his tablet with a case and carries it in his backpack so it won't break. 

• Asks permission from Heart before sharing a photo of her online. 

Cyberbullying

One situation a super citizen might seen online is cyberbullying. This is when someone uses digital devices, sites or apps to intimidate, harm or upset someone else. 

Cyberbullying can take many forms. 

• Someone making fun of or pressuring someone else repeatedly 

• Comments, memes, private messages or chatting

• The person being bullied not knowing everyone who's doing the bullying (as people can hide their identity online)

• A group of people ganging up on someone

What can you do?

If you see someone being cyberbullied, what can you do? 

Share ideas before going over these ideas. 

You can: 

• Defend or support the person being bullied

• Tell a trusted adult

• Address it directly with the bully

Doing any of these things makes you an upstander, which is a person who supports and stands up for someone else.
