We congratulate our talented Grade 6 children who achieved SECOND PRIZE for our group entry in the Hobson's Bay 5 x 7 Art Prize.
Our prize of a $100 voucher for Art Supplies from Artelier Art Supplies was collected on behalf of QoP by Oscar K and his Mum Debbie.
BEHIND THE AWARD
This year the theme for the artworks was FREEDOM.
The children spent time creatively thinking about what ‘FREEDOM’ means to them before capturing their ideas on mini 5 x 7 artworks.
Although each individual artwork is small, the amount of peer support throughout the process was great. The children encouraged each other, questioned each other, made suggestions, and applauded each other. Throughout the process the vibe in the Art Space was full of creative energy and enthusiasm. The children spent considerable time returning to their mini artworks until they were completely satisfied with their end results.
All the children were 'winners' in every sense of the word. The whole process was a credit to each child who volunteered to be one of our artists.
