What is ABODA?
ABODA stands for Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association - Every year, our ensembles participate in their Festivals. The Festival is when we take the full orchestra to another school to perform in front of judges who will give us feedback on our playing as well as a rating. This rating ranges from "Fair - Good - Excellent - Superior" with additional sub sections in between.
When do these festivals happen?
High School does a Fall Festival as well as a Spring Area Festival - Junior High only attends the Spring Area Festival. Exact dates are determined during the first semester, so please be on the lookout for an email from Mrs. P!
How have the Crismon Orchestras done in the past at these ABODA Festivals?
All Crismon Orchestras have performed at a high level in the past years! All groups have earned ratings between Excellent through Superior with Distinction (the absolute highest rating you can receive)
