My name is Fatoumata Ceesay and I am the Program Director at P.S./I.S. 499 - QCMST. We are so excited to have a program with our middle school participants! The QCH team is looking forward to meeting you all in-person and creating a long-lasting bond with you and your children. Let's have an amazing and fun filled school year together! 

Queens Community House (QCH) is a multi-site, multi-service settlement house that serves the diverse neighborhoods of Queens. We serve residents of all ages, races, faiths, and ethnicities while supporting the viability of the borough as a whole.

All QCH programs are licensed by the State Department of Health and meet strict guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of young people in our community. All staff are required to pass a background check before working in the after-school program.  

A few quick facts about the QCH After School Program at PS/IS 499, QCMST:  

• The 6th-8th program will be located in the school and students will be picked up by our staff at dismissal from school (approx. 2:15pm)  

• Parents/guardians will pick their child(ren) up at PS/IS 499 at After School dismissal (5:45pm)  

• The Program offers activities within the following categories:

• Social and Emotional Learning skill development

Hi parents! My name is Jerry Shen and I’m the afterschool director of Huan-Yu Education Center at PS/IS 499Q. I feel excited and honored that my program is selected to serve PS/IS499 families. I’ll do my best to satisfy all your needs and create a memorable experience for the children.

Huan-Yu Education Center was founded in 1997, with several branches in Queens and Brooklyn. We serve children of all races, faiths and ethnicities.

Huan-Yu Education Center afterschool program is licensed by Department of Health. We need to follow a lot of regulations including but not limited to: staff fingerprint check, staff physical checkup, staff trainings and qualifications etc. to provide a safe environment for the children.

Fee: $420/month/child.  Sibling discount: $20 per month/child

Pickup time: 2:10PM Dismissal time: 5:30PM-6:00PM
