Student Certification/COBRA

By August 31 (for the fall semester) and December 31 (for the spring semester) of each year you are required to confirm the Student Certification of enrollment for your 19-25 year old dependents.

• email a PDF or screenshot of document showing dependent name, school attending, and stating full time status to enrollments@tpgplans.com

• Sample documents include a student schedule showing 12 or more credit hours and school name, or a student verification form showing full time status

• This must be done by August 31 (for the fall semester) and December 31 (for the spring semester) of each year.

If your 19-25 year old dependent is no longer a full time student, APPLY for COBRA to maintain their benefits.

• If your child has completed college or is no longer a full-time student, please apply for COBRA benefits within 30 days of losing their full-time status.

Please note that claims for services provided over the summer may be initially denied.  Our Plan Administrator needs to verify, through Student Certifications, that your dependent is a full-time student for the upcoming semester before payment is made.

Coverage ends upon graduation of your dependent, when your dependent turns 25, or when your dependent is no longer a full time student with 12 or more credit hours.
