CONTACTING THE TEACHER
I welcome the opportunity to communicate with both students and parents regarding academic progress. Parents and/or guardians may contact me regarding their student in several ways:
E-Mail: This is the most efficient method of contacting me. My e-mail address is sknecht@pleasantvalleysd.org
Phone: Call the school and leave a message during school hours. I will return your call within 48 hours. The school phone number is (805) 383-5335.
Please also come to MV and sign up for ParentConnect. This will give you 24/7 access to my grade book and will allow you to see your child's current grade as well as any missing assignments.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share a little about myself as we begin a new school year. This will be my 23rd year teaching in PVSD and my 18th wonderful year at Monte Vista. I was raised in Camarillo and feel incredibly fortunate to teach in the community that has always been home to me.
I earned my bachelor's degree from California State University, Northridge, and my teaching credential from California State University Channel Islands. It has been a privilege to spend my career serving the students and families of this community, and I look forward to another exciting year of learning, growth, and partnership.
I have two wonderful children who keep life exciting. My daughter, Alexandra, is an incredibly talented scenic artist and a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. I am so very proud of all that she has accomplished. My son, Joey, is imaginative, energetic, and always keeps me on my toes. Our family also includes our cat, Gizmo, who is always ready to supervise whatever we're doing!
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time at the pool, working in my garden, searching for sea glass at the beach, crocheting, and playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
I look forward to getting to know each of you and your children and partnering with your family to make this a truly wonderful year of learning, growth, and fun!
