About your School Counselor

I am pleased to introduce myself as your 2025 - 2026 K-8 School Counselor. I have been working in the field of education for the past 33 years as both a teacher and school counselor. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Secondary Teaching Credentials in both Science and Social Science from the University of California Riverside. After teaching in the Redondo Beach Unified School District for several years, I went on to pursue my Master of Arts in School Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from Loyola Marymount University. My husband and I eventually moved to Ventura in 2000 and are happily raising our 3 children.

I am very excited to be working with the students, parents, and teachers of Los Primeros and Las Posas this year. I strive to provide the support necessary so that each child feels capable and confident academically, socially, and emotionally.  I work with students in the classroom setting through professionally created age-appropriate guidance lessons and our district adopted Second Step Social Emotional Learning curriculum.  I also see students for short term individual counseling, small group support, and wellness room time.  Students and parents can contact me through my district email or by contacting the LPSSA (M/W/F) or Las Posas (Tues) offices.

I look forward to working with families to achieve academic and social success in both school and life.
