About your School Counselor

I am pleased to introduce myself as your 2022- 2023 K-8 School Counselor. I have been working in the field of education for the past 29 years as both a teacher and school counselor. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Secondary Teaching Credentials in both Science and Social Science from the University of California Riverside. After teaching in the Redondo Beach Unified School District for several years, I went on to pursue my Master of Arts in School Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from Loyola Marymount University. My husband and I eventually moved to Ventura in 2000 and are happily raising our 3 children.

I am very excited to be working with the students, parents, and teachers of Los Primeros and PVSEA. I strive to provide the support necessary so that each child feels capable and confident academically, socially, and emotionally. I work with students in the classroom setting through presentations and guidance lessons using our Second Step Social Emotional Learning curriculum. I also see students for short term individual, small group, and crisis counseling. Each student will need to have a PVSD consent for school counseling form on file in the school counseling office to receive counseling services out of the classroom time. This form may have been completed during enrollment but if not the consent for counseling services forms are available in the school office or through the links provided on this webpage.

I look forward to working with families to achieve academic and social success in both school and life.
