Mrs. Green's History Classes
My name is Jessie Green, and this is my fourteenth year at Monte Vista Middle School. I myself am a product of the Pleasant Valley School District, and am so proud to be able to give back to the district in which I attended. I look forward to the day when my two boys will do the same.
I am looking forward to getting to know my students and parents this year as we journey through 8th grade US history. Please know, I strongly believe it takes a village, and I greatly appreciate communication between home and school to make sure I am providing the best learning environment for my students' and their needs.
Please take a moment to fill out a brief form about your child to give me an idea of how to best serve you and your student's needs. Parent Form
I am only on campus on B-days, so if possible, please email me if you need to get a hold of me. I am always an email away at firstname.lastname@example.org . This is going to be a great year!
In California, our history standards have not changed. You can find the standards here. We have added a History Framework that embeds questions that frame our discussions and inquiries.
Framework Questions can be found in our class brochure.
This is an exciting year because we are piloting two new history textbooks. Please be patient as we transition through new materials throughout the year. Your students voice regarding these texts will help us determine as a district the new textbook we will adopt.
