Hello! My name is Faith Howard, and this is my nineteenth year at Monte Vista... it hardly seems possible! Clearly, I love it here, so I am never leaving. :) When I am not at school, I am busy with my little ones. My kids keep me busy with all things sports related. My son is thirteen years old and starting eighth grade! He loves math, baseball and soccer. My daughter is nine years old and in fourth grade. She makes my ears bleed when she sings K-Pop Demon Hunters at volume 100 :) and she also loves playing baseball.
Being a working parent with school age kids is NO JOKE! I completely understand how difficult this is so PLEASE if you are confused, stuck, or just need to vent, reach out to me. We can be flexible and make things work together. We will have an amazing year!
I am looking forward to getting to know my students and having lots of fun while we learn about Ancient Civilizations!
Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,
I am excited for a great school year. Hopefully this website will help you and your student navigate this school year in 6th and 7th grade Social Studies!
CONTACTING THE TEACHER
I welcome the opportunity to communicate with both students and parents regarding academic progress. To preserve confidentiality, I will not discuss student progress during class time. Students may arrange to meet with me privately during breaks or after school when necessary. Parents and/or guardians may contact me regarding their student in several ways:
E-Mail: This is the most efficient method of contacting me. My e-mail address is fhoward@pleasantvalleysd.org
Phone: Call the school and leave a message during school hours. I will return your call within 48 hours. The school phone number is (805) 383-5335.
Please make sure to utilize ParentConnect. This will give you 24/7 access to my grade book and will allow you to see your child's current grade as well as any missing assignments.
A copy of what to expect this year is located in your child's Google Classroom. This is where printable assignments will be uploaded for your printing pleasure. Additionally, all assignments can be found on our "Assignment Calendar" page. Students can print or make a digital copy of all of the assignments throughout the year.
I know we are all looking forward to a great year!!!
