Marie Curie discovered discovered polonium and radium in 1898. She won a nobel prize in 1911 for isolating pure radium.
Eleanor Roosevelt advocated for expanded roles for women in the workplace, the civil rights of African Americans and Asian Americans, and the rights of World War II refugees.
Harriet Tubman was one of the "Train Conductors" for the underground railway. She escorted 300 and more slaves to freedom, in under 19 trips.
The official Mother's Day began in the US and was started by the daughter of Ann Marie Jarvis- Anna Jarvis. Anna Jarvis wanted the day to be a celebration of how much mothers sacrificed for their children. She put her efforts into creating the Mother's Day tradition after her mother died in 1905.

April 1st, in many Western countries is traditionally an occasion for playing tricks. This custom has been observed for hundreds of years, but its origin is unknown. April Fools' Day traditions include playing hoaxes or practical jokes on others, often yelling “April Fools!”, at the end to clue in the subject of the April Fools' Day prank. While its exact history is shrouded in mystery, the embrace of April Fools' Day jokes by the media and major brands has ensured the unofficial holiday’s long life.
Easter Sunday
Easter is one of the principal holidays, or feasts, of Christianity. It marks the Resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion. For many Christian churches, Easter is the joyful end to the Lenten season of fasting and penitence. Some Easter traditions are going to church, having an egg hunt, getting Easter eggs, and ect.
Nowruz marks the first day of spring and is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox (two moments in the year when the Sun is exactly above the Equator and day and night are of equal length), which usually occurs on 21 March. People believe that Nowruz is celebrated is because it is a day of renewal of nature, or anything connecting to it.
