CONTACTING THE TEACHER

I welcome the opportunity to communicate with both students and parents regarding academic progress. Parents and/or guardians may contact me regarding their student in several ways:

E-Mail: This is the most efficient method of contacting me. My e-mail address is acazier@pleasantvalleysd.org

Phone: Call the school and leave a message during school hours. I will return your call within 48 hours. The school phone number is (805) 383-5335.

Please also come to MV and sign up for ParentConnect. This will give you 24/7 access to my grade book and will allow you to see your child's current grade as well as any missing assignments.

Hi! I am Mrs. Cazier and I am so excited to be starting a new school year! I have been here at Monte Vista for 17 years! I graduated from California State University Channel Islands in May 2006 and got married in August 2006. I received my credential from California Lutheran University, in Thousand Oaks, in May 2008 and completed my Master's Degree in Education from CLU in May 2013.

My husband and I welcomed our first child in February 2021.  His name is Elliot.  We will be welcoming our second son in early December 2023.

Our family also includes our dog, Lucy, who is 12 years old.  I am looking forward to a very successful year for each of you. Please let me know what I can do to help you reach your goals in mathematics.

IMPORTANT:

Hi everyone!

I hope you had a nice summer and are ready to get back to school!  I want to share what to expect this year for our classes.  It will take a few weeks for us to get into the routines of school, but this information will be helpful for you to know.  This applies to any time a student is absent!

I will be posting the daily agenda on Google Classroom.  There will be a link to a lesson video.  It is the student's job to watch the video AND TAKE NOTES! Sometimes the lesson video will be identical to what we do in class, sometimes it will be a summarized version of the notes that covers the same big concepts, vocabulary, and similar examples.  I will be providing copies of any worksheets that we do for warm-ups or assignments.  They will be required to complete this work on paper and either submit a picture to me via email OR bring in the paper when they return to school.  If an assignment is on Big Ideas Online (for Math 8), I will be including that in the agenda.  They will need to do work on paper as well.  When there is a quiz or test, I will be giving specific instructions on how they can take those assessments at home on the Classwork assignment that I will be posting.

Please let me know if you or your students have any questions.
