To get into the gifted program at PV you had to take an intelligence test and an achievement test. The findings of those tests are also compared with your classroom performance. When it was determined that you perform above your peers in those areas, you were labeled as gifted.
There are many characteristics of gifted students and you may have some or many of the below: reasons well, learns rapidly, has an extensive vocabulary, has an excellent memory, has a long attention span, sensitive, shows compassion, perfectionistic, intense, morally strong, has a strong curiosity, persevering when interested, has a high degree of energy, prefers older friends, has a wide range of interests, has a great sense of humor, early or avid reader, concerned with justice and fairness, mature judgement, is a keen observer, has a vivid imagination, is highly creative, tends to question authority, shows ability with numbers, is good at jigsaw puzzles, and is an independent learner.
