Mr. Dye has been teaching music at Pymatuning Valley Local Schools, in Andover OH since January 2016. He is currently the Band Director (2017- ) and leads all instrumental ensembles grade 5-12, and previously served as the elementary music teacher. Mr. Dye has earned a MM in Conducting and a MSEd in Educational Administration from Youngstown State University. His undergraduate studies include a B.S. in Music Education from Malone University, and a minor in History. Mr. Dye's primary conducting teachers includes the late Stephen L. Gage, and Timothy Paul, David Donelson, Jon C. Peterson, and Steven Grimo. Justin studied Trombone with Andrew Mitchell at YSU and Tom Pylinksi at Malone University. Mr. Dye is very passionate about using his band program to create and train well rounded citizens and leaders of tomorrow. He recently organized and lead the first: Ashtabula County Bands Student Leadership summit, which hosted over 40 students learning and practicing leadership skills. Mr. Dye is very active in his church serving as Worship Director for Andover Christian Church. Mr. Dye resides with his wife Sonni and daughters, Emersyn and Everly, and their dog Indiana Bones in Andover.
When is not busy being band director or serving at church he loves riding his bike, fishing, kayaking, and going to the movies with his wife and traveling the beautiful country with his family.
Fun fact about Mr. Dye he graduated from PV in 2011, Valedictorian. He was in 7th grade when the brand new PV Middle School opened and attended Middle School 4-6th grade at the current PV Primary, and attended Primary at the old PV Primary (that doesn't exist anymore).
