About the Teacher
This will be my sixth year teaching English and Journalism at Palos Verdes High School. I teach Freshman and Sophomore English, and advise the school newspaper, The Point.
Ever since I was a young girl, I wanted to work at a newspaper or magazine, and I even created a neighborhood newspaper for the kids on my block. It wasn't until I got to middle school that I got a taste of student journalism with yearbook class. In high school I helped start our school newspaper my junior year. My love for student journalism led me to pursue my Bachelor's in Print and Digital Journalism at USC Annenberg (with a minor in English). After volunteering at several schools in Downtown Los Angeles, I discovered my calling to teach. After graduating from USC I earned my Masters in Arts of Teaching and my credential from UC Irvine.
In my spare time I enjoy kickboxing, reading, traveling, and going to concerts with my husband.
Give me your Psych babies if you need a break during class.
Out of the five years I've been in the boat races, I've sunk three times...
My husband and I enjoy traveling and going to concerts out of state!
I love to kickbox after school to stay healthy and unwind!
