Class Overview

Welcome to Eighth Grade! My name is Miss Tarica (tuh-REE-kuh) and I am thrilled to be your partner this year as your scholar enters a new phase of their academic journey! My ultimate goal is for your scholar to continue to grow their passion for learning, while nurturing independence and awareness along the way.

My teaching philosophy is based in helping students develop independent academic skills. I believe in racially equitable teaching that is humanizing for all scholars. Our classroom will be a safe space for all students to learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships. 

As we work together this year, please know that there is no partner more important in this journey than YOU! You are not only your scholar’s biggest advocate, but you also know them better than anyone else. I believe deeply in maintaining open lines of communication within the boundaries of school and I encourage you to come to me directly with questions, concerns, and insight.
