The Summer 2023 WIT Internship dives into the fundamental concepts, workflows and ethics of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML). Students will build/deploy AI/ML models in the cloud services provided by Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform. Course content is free to the WIT students and will be delivered through Coursera. Awareness and reflections on implications of AI/ML; in society (including media), economies, sustainability and the choice to use technology for good.
The WIT internship will position students for course completion certificates and professional certification(s) in AI/ML. Free exam vouchers to attempt professional certification(s) will be provided. WIT internships are not easy, yet they are satisfying to self-motivated students and for some, the internships have been life changing. There is an expectation in WIT that you give back to the good of; other students, your school, PV, your community, our collective society and to your family.
The 2023 WIT internship is online; student Chromebook is provided, internet access is needed. One weekly two-hour virtual group session requires attendance. Weekly virtual office hours will be available and are optional attendance. Students can expect to spend 15-20 hours per week. All students must be recommended by the Principal at their school. A school's parent/guardian permission slip is required - we will be responsibly using industry portals and resources normally outside the K12 realm. The internship starts June 1st and operates throughout the months of June and July.
