Ms. Bourne teaches freshman English and Pre-AP English. She has lived in Arizona her whole life, is a graduate of Horizon High School, and has taught here since 2019. She began teaching at Horizon less than a semester after graduating summa cum laude from Arizona State University. Ms. Bourne is an avid reader and loves to travel, so much so that she has visited 6 out of 7 continents! She and her family have 3 cats, all rescues, but someday she really wants to get a wiener dog. Her number one vice is coffee, closely followed by Reese's Peanut Butter cups and 3-wick candles from Bath and Body Works. This will be her first year leading Husky 101, and she can't think of any better way to do it than with her best teacher friend! 

Ms.Skaggs teaches English at Horizon where she is also the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach. Ms. Skaggs has been a teacher at Horizon since 2017 and has always taught Freshmen (because they are the BEST). As a former husky herself, Ms. Skaggs is very passionate about Horizon and truly believes that it is the best school ever! While at Horizon, Ms. Skaggs was a part of the choir program and became a 2009 State Champion in volleyball. Her only addictions are to unsweet black iced tea, Chick-fil-A, and watching The Office. Ms. Skaggs is excited to be a part of Husky 101 and she looks forward to meeting you all!
