Students are provided with name tags that include classroom numbers, arrival, and dismissal information. Please make sure these tags remain attached to their backpacks at all times.
ARRIVAL
Students are not to arrive on school property before 8:55 am.
School personnel are stationed at the preschool area to monitor students as they arrive on school property from 8:55 - 9:10 am. Bus riders will unload at the ramp in front of the building. Car riders will unload at the back of our building.
LATE STUDENTS
Students who arrive after 9:10 am must use the intercom/buzzer system to gain entrance into the building. Parents are expected to walk their children up to the main office doors for entrance. Your child will be escorted to their homeroom.
DISMISSAL
Preschoolers dismiss school property at 3:10 pm on a full day and 1:10 for half days.
Bus Riders: Preschool staff will assist students in leaving their classrooms and getting on the bus. Busses load in the front of the building. Please make sure student bus tags are always attached to their backpacks.
Car Riders: Preschool staff will assist students in leaving their classrooms and walking to the car rider pick-up area. Valley Park vehicles can be parked at the side parking lot accessible from Jones Avenue. Penn Beach vehicles can park at the side of the building and will be dismissed at the side entrance or your child's classroom door.
Please make sure student tags are always attached to their backpacks.
Students are considered late after 9:10 a.m. Late students must report to the main office.
Illness: Please remember to keep your child home if they aren’t feeling well. You can call 856-540-6200 option 6 to reach Valley Park and option 1 to leave a detailed voice message on the attendance line. You do not need to speak to our secretary to call them out. Do not report your child's absence to their teacher.
Preschool is NOT mandatory it is a privilege.
If your child has excessive absences, cronic tardiness, or behavioral challenges they will be replaced by a student on our waitlist.
Please make every effort to bring your child on time and consistently to school.
The following are items that we request students bring to school with them:
2 Change of clothes in a baggie for their cubby (especially socks, pants, and underwear) labeled with the student's name.
1 Backpack (large enough to hold a school-supplied folder)
2 crib-size sheets/blankets for rest time. They will be sent home weekly for cleaning to be returned.
ALL folders and school-related items will be supplied by the district.
Please DO NOT send in any toys with your child.
If your child is not toilet trained, please provide pull-ups and wipes labeled in a bag with the student's name.
Please contact your child's teacher with any questions about optional items that you may wish to purchase and/or donate for classroom use.
You may send your child to preschool each day with a water bottle labeled.
Breakfast is offered daily for your child for purchase.
You may choose to pack or purchase lunch for your child. Menus will be sent home monthly. In addition, visit the district website for further information regarding school lunch accounts and menu options.
Free snack is provided and offered daily.
Free and Reduced lunch forms can be found on the district website. If your other children are receiving free/reduced lunch in our district, you still need to complete one for your new child attending. Forms must be filled out every school year.
Your child does not have to be toilet trained to attend. However, we do expect families to work closely with our staff to ensure that toilet training is consistent both at home and school. Please be sure to send in the items needed for your child including Pull-ups with velcro fasteners and wipes. All items should be labeled with your child's name. Extra clothes are encouraged! Accidents will happen!
Parents should do their best to make sure that their child's pull-up is dry and clean in the morning before sending them to school.
Students will have an opportunity to nap or rest each day. If desired, students may bring a small soft toy to cuddle during nap/rest time that will be stored with their bedding in their labeled container.
