Grading and Trimester Expectations

GRADING SCALES and POLICY

Valley Park School uses a standards-based report card.  It shows levels of student achievement based upon grade level expectations from the NJ Student Learning Standards. The report cards will be sent home at the end of each trimester. 

Standards-based report cards differ from the traditional report cards. The standards-based report card is more specific and shows individual mastery scores for the particular content and skills that make up each subject or special area, whereas, the traditional report card shows one summary  letter/number grade for each subject or special area.

Students’ report cards will be available on the following dates:

Trimester 1: December 12

Trimester  2: March 27

Trimester 3:  June 12 (last day of school)
