What Is Tri-M?
Tri-M is an international music honor society, which recognizes musical achievement, academic excellence, and community service.
Tri-M is a part of NAfME, which is among the world’s largest arts education organization.
Member Requirements:
Must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
Must have at least 1 year in an ensemble before induction.
Must be in good standing in ensemble music classes.
Must be willing and able to participate in monthly Tri-M meetings, community service projects, and other scheduled Tri-M activities. ONE meeting per month is MANDATORY.
Chapter Requirements:
Must complete a minimum of 12 service hours per school year (6 hours by January) in two of these categories:
½ hour for all meetings (2 meetings a month)
1-2 hours for ushering at any concert
Outside events will be given hours for duration of the event - Performances, Cafe Luna, Rose Sale
Attendance at the induction ceremony for continuing members (If missed, an extra hour of service is required by January)
Must pay yearly dues of $5.00 to Tri-M chapter.
