Department Meetings: Speaking to the Department faculty during a regular department meeting.
Department Resources: Creating a document or presentation of thoughts/ideas of relevance to department subject matter that could be emailed to departmental faculty and/or uploaded into sharepoint.
School Resources: Creating a document/presentation of thoughts/ideas of relevance to the larger program of Gen Ed and that could be applicable to faculty and/or leadership in other departments in the school.
Seminars: Giving an overview of seminars attended and how the ideas could apply to teaching and/or to the larger goals of Purdue Global and Gen Ed.
Observation: Sharing thoughts on how to serve our students better, based on observations/information from your own personal professional development activity.
Multimedia: Create a multimedia learning object such as a podcast or video that can be uploaded on sharepoint to share with faculty; shared with others to enhance classroom presentations; or used by the School of General Education.
Social Networking: Create a Blog or begin a discussion thread to discuss the things you learned that are applicable to vision and values of Purdue University Global, the School of General Education, your specific department or to the roles of Adjunct and/or Full Time Instructors.
Compliance Training – refers to the process of education on laws, regulations, and policy within the faculty/staff’s field of study or profession. This type of activity should be logged in “Compliance Training Activity.” This should not be confused with PG Compliance Training from Human Resources.
Discipline-related – refers to the process of continued education on topics specific to faculty/staff field of study. This type of activity should be logged in “Discipline-related Activity.”
Leadership – refers to the process of education on leadership and further development of leadership skills as related to faculty/staff current and future roles. This type of activity should be logged in “Leadership Activity.”
Other – refers to any professional development activity that is not included in the preset categories. A full description of the activity should be included. This category should be avoided if possible.
Skills Attainment – refers to the process of education on obtaining new skills or strengthening existing skills related to faculty/staff current and future roles. This type of activity should be logged in “Skills Attainment Activity.”
Teaching and Learning – refers to the process of continued education on topics of teaching and learning in higher education as related to the faculty role. This subtype should be used when preparing and presenting for internal conferences. This type of activity should be logged in “Teaching and Learning Activity.”
Training Development – refers to preparation of materials to present at PG sponsored conferences or events. Presentation time at the live session is logged by the CTL team.
