Purdue Global Scholar Wins National Student of the Year Award

Josh Vandergriff’s career goal to learn more about and work with health sciences goes back as long as he can remember.

It’s a determination that helped lead him to Purdue Global, where he has excelled in the classroom, culminating with his recently receiving one of two American Council on Education Student of the Year Awards. The award is presented annually to individuals who have benefited academically or professionally from the use of ACE credit recommendations for workforce or military training. Read more.

PG News and Updates

Phishing Attempts

Emails have gone out to several employees from an "administrator@purdue.edu" email address with the subject line “Password Expiration Notice” asking employees to scan a QR code to maintain their current password or their account will be deactivated. The Purdue IT Team confirmed this was not a legitimate email but instead a phishing attempt. Employees should NOT scan the QR code sent and should instead report it as spam.

If you did scan the QR code sent, please contact Purdue IT immediately at 765-494-4000.

PGLA - Indefinite Pause

With great disappointment, we inform the Purdue Global campus community that we will be placing the pilot for the PG Learning Assistant (PGLA) on an indefinite pause.

We have paused the pilot indefinitely to re-evaluate our technology needs as they are related to the Classroom of the Future roadmap and associated budgets. Our institution has many ever-changing priorities, and it is essential that we ensure our resources and attention are focused on those that are most critical to our overall success. At this time, we believe it is in Purdue Global's best interests to pause and re-evaluate the priority of the PGLA.

Access to the PG Learning Assistant has been removed from courses in the 2402C term. Impacted students were notified via email on June 20. Thank you to everyone who participated in the project including students, faculty, staff, and administration, for your amazing partnership and support over the past year.

Introducing Purdue Global NOW

In the coming weeks we will be launching our new employee-facing, internal newsletter Purdue Global News of the Week (Purdue Global NOW.) This new newsletter will replace the existing Monday Minute. While the procedure for submitting content will remain the same, we hope to expand and deepen the sense of community within Purdue Global, while keeping everyone informed, updated, and involved. Some of the newer areas we look forward to highlighting are:

One of the biggest changes will be the dissolution of the Google site. Going forward with Purdue Global NOW, all of the content, articles, and documents will be contained and archived in the email itself. We hope you are as excited about these upcoming changes and opportunities to continue to grow as we are. Be on the lookout for Purdue Global NOW coming soon!

Five Purdue Global Nursing Students Honored for Nursing Excellence with DAISY Award

Growing up, Meghan Koehler knew she wanted to make a positive impact in the lives of others through a role in the medical field, as she was inspired by her mom, stepfather, and aunts, who worked as nurses.

A summer EMT course she took while an undergraduate helped her realize that nursing was her calling.

That commitment to her patients, colleagues and community is why Koehler was named as one of five Purdue Global recipients of The DAISY Award in 2024.

The awards were presented to recipients May 21 during an online reception.

In addition to Koehler, this year’s Purdue Global recipients also included:
