Everything’s a Race To This Driver. Purdue Global Is Getting Her Ahead.

To race car driver Kayli Peterson, the art of the comeback isn’t an unfamiliar concept. Winning, falling behind and getting back on top is all just part of success.

“At one point we won like 20 or 21 races in a row. Some years are like that. When you’re clearly the best out there, you go out and you win every weekend,” says Peterson, who drives in NASCAR’s Super Late Model and Modified series. “But then you have the years when it just sucks; you don’t know what’s happening.”

The San Bernardino, California, resident grew up tightening bolts as a toddler with her dad – a driver and a mechanic himself – at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. But the early start didn’t grant her an easy path. She attributes her success to what she believes in: Want it. Find the problem and solve it. Don’t stop.

This way of thinking matters to Peterson in everything she does, whether she’s working toward trophies or a master’s degree in forensic psychology from Purdue Global. Read more about Kayli's comeback with Purdue Global.

Technology Update For Students - 2 Factor Authentication

We would like to inform you about a significant change that is about to take place that will help better to safeguard students’ accounts and privacy at Purdue Global. 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) is being introduced to PG Campus on 7/20/23 as a required second means of sign-in beyond a username and password. 2FA is an industry-standard that will help ensure that each student is the only person accessing their account.

How will it work?

After successfully entering their passcode, students can access PG Campus and their Purdue Global account.

After this set-up, they will continue to receive an OTP by the method they chose each time they enter their username and password in PG Campus at the start of a new session.

Active students and students who have enrolled but have yet to start received a notification email regarding the upcoming change to their sign-in experience on 6/20/23. A follow-up communication will also be sent on 7/13/23. Students will not be able to access PG Campus is this is not set up.

Securing Career Promotions After Earning a Purdue Global MBA

Jay Wasson saw value in a Purdue Global degree to help move his career forward. He’s sharing how earning an online master’s degree has contributed to success.

When I decided to go back to school and earn my MBA, I was senior director and chief operations officer of physical facilities at Purdue University. I already had my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Purdue.

As my career advanced, I became interested in formal business training. My technical skills were less applicable to what I was working on — responsibilities like setting strategic direction, creating budgets and managing larger, diverse and distributed teams.

Purdue Global is the only thing that would have worked for me to enhance my education because of its flexibility. I was working full time, and my two children were in high school. Read more about Jay and his Purdue Global experience.

These first two free courses in the series are an excellent introductory resource for learners who are interested in cybersecurity!

New Grant Writing Non-Credit Course

The School of Multidisciplinary and Professional Studies recently launched a Grant Writing non-credit course. This free course is available through the Purdue Global Alternative Credit Center (ACC). If you have not registered for courses on the ACC before, you must create an account to register for a course.

Grant Proposal Writing in the 21st Century will provide participants with the knowledge and resources to assess the goals of their organizations and the means to pursue outside funding to achieve them. Topics include identifying needs and potential funders; preparing a budget and other supportive documentation; writing applications; tracking the use of amounts received; and maintaining positive, ongoing relationships with stewards.

This class would be an excellent resource to share with students toward the end of a class in which they develop ideas for real-world projects that may require applying for funding.
