Human Resources Transition Information
Human Resources Transition Information
As an adjunct, there is important information you need to know regarding the upcoming HR transition. Specific training materials will be sent and below are highlights of the changes you should expect as a result of our moving from Kaplan and the Workday system to Purdue West Lafayette and Success Factors.
On December 7, 2021, an informational session was held to provide an overview of the transition updates for adjuncts. View the recording and please reach out to PGHR@purdueglobal.edu with questions.
The most important changes are related to our expanded use of the APL platform. You already use APL to record all of your professional development and respond to course offers. Beginning with the January 5, 2022 terms (2201B; 2201E; 2201L) you will also receive your Letter of Engagement (LOE) via the APL platform.
Here are copies of each of these familiar communications:
Please look carefully at the Letter of Engagement (LOE). You will see some improvements!
You will be paid every two weeks, on the same schedule with the rest of the university.
There is a change in the way the payments are divided.
NEW: 4-9 payments with the specific pay period dates will be identified (please see the Adjunct Payroll Schedule below).
NEW: Payments are calculated based on the number of days worked in the pay period.
Paychecks will no longer be equal. Given that our terms begin on a Wednesday and end on a Tuesday, the first and last payments will have fewer days.
The amount for each pay period will be shown on the LOE, so will you know how much to expect in each direct deposit.
NEW: Additional Duty payments will be paid in full with the second paycheck. Course Lead payments will continue to be made quarterly.
Direct deposits will be made by ADP.
Payslips and other payroll-related information will now be available in ADP.
Training information to access ADP is coming, but the first step is authentication using Duo Mobile to create what is called a Boilerkey.
A notice was sent out to set up your Boilerkey account. If you have not received this information, please reach out to PGHR@purdueglobal.edu
As an adjunct, you are familiar with our track schedules. Some of you will begin teaching on a track in 2021 but finish in 2022. Your payments for an LOE that began in 2021 will continue according to that schedule, into 2022, until the term has been completed. These terms are:
2104B
2107E
2105A
2105C
The first LOE’s in 2022 that will reflect the new payment schedule, and be managed completely within the APL system, will be for these terms:
2201B
2201E
2201L (Concord Law School Faculty)
The same process to offer you an assignment and confirm the assignment with an LOE will continue. Using the APL system, there will only be one LOE. It will be issued at T+9, after the add-drop period.
The first start dates in 2022 for each track are:
2201L 1/5/2022
2201B 1/5/2022
2201E 1/5/2022
2201A 2/2/2022
2201C 3/2/2022
Payment for Excel track modules will not change. You will receive an LOE for the module, but information about how many students have completed assessments in a given two-week pay period will now be available in APL.
