A scholar, athlete, artist, and activist, Amelia Sofos '24 is driven by the desire to lead a purposeful, exciting life by creating a more just, equitable, and sustainable world. Climate change is the greatest existential threat of our time. Amelia is determined to combat this threat through art, leadership, and activism.
I was raised to not simply watch things happen but to act if I saw something I did not agree with. This compulsion has been a guiding principle and has greatly influenced my actions in creating the change I hope to see in the world. Social justice is the cause I care about the most. From reproductive rights to climate change, I strive to see a more humane world for all people.
"The greatest danger to our future is apathy."
- Jane Goodall
