Message From Ms. Fletcher, A.P.
May Newsletter
Greetings!
May is the time for us to take a moment to stop and smell the flowers. The April rains have finally ended, and all around us are the pink, yellow, white, red, and purple blossoms of tulips, magnolias, daffodils, lilacs, peonies and roses in full bloom.
It is times like these that we wonder how the world could ever be anything but good and peaceful. When we look at such beauty, we can only conclude that in spite of how may unexpected challenges life brings, we live in a truly wonderful world.
In May, time seems to move faster at PULSE as we get closer and closer to the end of the academic year in June. For our freshmen and sophomore, promotion to the next grade is critical. So, every credit matters. For our seniors and potential graduates, crossing the finish line is the goal and graduation is the prize for achieving the goal. Therefore, this is a great time for our parents and guardians to schedule a meeting with our attendance and guidance teams to review your student’s academic, social and emotional progress, and to consider your student’s next steps. Remember, we are only a phone call, a text, or an email away. So, we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Ms. Fletcher

SENIOR EVENTS AT PULSE
PULSE has a joint partnership with Bronx Community College that allows all seniors and potential graduates to submit an appli- cation to Bronx Community College prior to graduation for immediate acceptance. A guaranteed acceptance is one way to lower the anxiety of applying to college, and it ensures that your student has a next step for their academic studies after high school. If your student is a senior and a potential graduate, please contact Ms. Kimberly Mejia via email at kmejia@dfoy.org to learn more about your student's status for admissions and financial aid.
REMINDER: COLLEGE AND CAREER WEDNESDAYS MATTER!

THEY MET WITH GUEST SPEAKERS FROM COLLEGE AND CAREER PROGRAMS. TO LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR STUDENT’S CURRENT COLLEGE AND CAREER PLANS, PLEASE EMAIL MS VARGAS AT GVAR- GAS5@SCHOOLS.NYC.GOV.
