Future Ready Library Framework
Our school libraries utilize the Future Ready Library Framework to lead, teach and support as part of a collaborative school leadership team.
The Future Ready Library Framework is all about ensuring that your child has access to the best resources, technology, and learning experiences in their school library. It goes beyond just books—libraries today are hubs for digital learning, collaboration, and critical thinking. With a focus on literacy, technology, and personalized learning, our school librarians help students develop essential skills for the future, like research, media literacy, and problem-solving. The framework ensures that libraries are equipped to support every child in reaching their full potential, preparing them for both academic success and the workforce of tomorrow.
During the 2024-25 school year, our Library Media Team has been working to complete and revise an in-depth analysis of the Future Ready Librarian Framework. During this process, we work to gain a deeper understanding of each “wedge” of the Future Ready Librarian Framework and complete an in-depth reflection on how our library program fulfills each “wedge” of the framework. Our analysis includes the following areas for reflection:
What is included in this wedge?
What are we doing well?
What challenges do we face? Or what growth do we feel could help strengthen our program?
Through this analysis and reflection, we were able to identify our areas of greatest strength as well as our areas of greatest need. This was critical as we worked to narrow our focus to complete our goal setting process for our long range plan. In the end, we determined that our three areas of focus for this long-range planning cycle would be as follows: (1) Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, (2) Data and Privacy and (3) Collaborative Leadership.
