Q: How does it feel to be the favorite teacher in your department?
A: Amazing! That's great news.
Q: What brought you to Pinacate?
A: I wanted to work in a district closer to my house. I live in Riverside.
Q: How long have you been teaching?
A: This is my 14th year of teaching
Q: How did your teaching journey start?
A: I went to UCR and graduated without realizing what I wanted to do. I started subbing and enjoyed it. My best friend and I subbed together and eventually decided to become teachers together.
Q: What college did you go to?
A: UC Riverside
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
A: I love reading, watching datelines, 20/20, spooky movies, exercising every day before work, and pilates. I LOVE warm chocolate chip cookies-my fave dessert EVER.
Q: What's your best memory of working at Pinacate?
A: Last year's schedule. Putting on lots of dances and activities at lunch was a fun way to do my job.
Q: What would your students be shocked to find out about you?
A: I hated middle school and everyone tried to fit in and it was awkward.
Q: What made you teach the subject that you currently teach?
A: I majored in English at UCR so I decided to become an English teacher.
Q: What are the hardest and easiest parts of being a teacher?
A: The hardest part is not having the support to do your job effectively (working with adults). The best part is building relationships with my students.
