The "Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges" or WASC, is a 2-6 year cyclical evaluation process. Our staff is spending months looking deeply at various areas of focus within our school (organization, curriculum, instruction, assessment, and culture) and compiling a detailed self-study report to collect evidence, analyze and reflect on our strengths and areas for growth. In the spring, a WASC committee will visit our campus and conduct its own evaluation by reviewing our evidence, observing classrooms and interviewing students and adults. Our school's accreditation is based on the committee's evaluation along with our report that demonstrates the following three components explained on the association's website: "(1) a school’s goal is successful student learning; (2) each school has a clear purpose and school-wide student goals; and (3) a school engages in external and internal evaluations as part of continued school improvement to support student learning."
