At the Summer Academy, we strive to give students an immersive introduction to life on an American college campus. Participants take engaging courses taught by Puget Sound faculty and join activities led by current students, creating a welcoming environment for both learning and social connection.
We emphasize hands-on, high-impact experiential learning that helps students apply classroom knowledge in real-world contexts. Our 10-day program includes on-campus housing, dining, and cultural exploration—providing opportunities for students to build confidence, broaden their perspectives, prepare for academic and personal success in the future.
PROGRAM GOALS
Our program offers more than high-quality academic instruction—it provides a rich environment for experiential learning, cultural exchange, and personal growth. Through this program, students:
Enhance academic skills and language proficiency through engaging courses and collaborative projects.
Broaden international perspectives by interacting with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Experience authentic American culture through field trips, campus life, and community activities.
Develop cross-cultural communication skills, learning to collaborate respectfully and effectively with students from different countries.
Strengthen teamwork and leadership abilities through group projects, field studies, and social activities.
Build confidence and independence while navigating life on a U.S. college campus and participating in real-world problem-solving.
Foster long-lasting connections and networks with peers, faculty, and mentors from around the world.
This holistic approach ensures that students not only gain academic knowledge but also develop the interpersonal, cultural, and practical skills needed for future success.
