Business Studies in Milan Italy
By going on the IES Business Studies in Milan program, you are presented with different opportunities to explore and grow your knowledge and perspectives on business through studying at prestigious local universities in Milan, Italy, also known as the business capital of the country. They provide unique courses in business, Finance, Marketing, economics, and management, as well as different part-time internship opportunities.
Important aspects of the program to note are housing for the program, internship opportunities, courses, and requirements. The options for housing include an apartment, a homestay, or staying in a Residence Hall. Each option gives a different experience and is up to the student to what kind of experience they want to have while abroad. Internship opportunities can be a beneficial experience to have, as they look really good on resumes and can build your work experience, possibly opening up more opportunities for you in the future. For courses, the different ones that are offered are provided below, although they are subject to change by the program. The transfer from credits to units is generally 5 credits to 1 unit. This means you will have 3-4 units per semester. You will still be on pace to graduate with this program as long as the classes count towards your required classes. Lastly, different requirements for going on this study abroad program consist of being at least 18 years old, being in good standing with your school, as well as having at least a 2.75 GPA, and you must have a sophomore, junior, or senior standing at the start of the program. Overall, this program is a great and unique opportunity, especially if you are interested in business! You will build skills, learn more about yourself and the world, and learn about Italian life and its culture.
You take 15-19 credits per semester and all courses are taught in English or Italian except for language courses which are just taught in Italian. You can create your own academic experience by selecting from the following programs:
IES Abroad Italian language course at your proficiency level (required, 4 or 6 credits)
English-taught IES Abroad area studies courses (optional, 3 credits each)
Business-related courses (in English or Italian) at local universities (optional, credits vary)
English- or Italian-taught IES Abroad elective courses (optional, 3 credits each)
Internship and seminar (optional, 3 credits)
Community-based learning placement and seminar (optional, 3 credits)
