Dear Donor,

I hope this email finds you in good health. With the extended lockdown period and based on worldwide trends, we recognize that we are in this for the long haul. Your support, along with others', has allowed us to continue our relief efforts.

On April 23rd, we distributed our second round of emergency relief packages to 175 families (approx. 1200 individuals). Pudiyador staff, assisted by our alumni and current teenagers in our program (whom we are so proud of!) took all the necessary safety precautions and distributed packages to each family by calling them (one-by-one) to our centres for collection.

Here are the families we supported in each community (most families have 5-8 people per home):

Ramapuram: Giri Nagar: 24
Ramapuram: Gangai Amman Kovil: 58
Urur -Olcott Kuppam: 46
Kakkan colony, Irular tribe & Vannandurai: 48

Total cost (incl. transportation): Rs.1,24,866 (~$1,700 USD).

We are far from done! We need to provide immediate support to our families for the next 6-9 weeks, and your advocacy will go a long way. We would be grateful if you can introduce our work to your family and friends who you know would care about our organization. The Feed Chennai Initiative

To expand our reach beyond Pudiyador communities, we have joined forces with the Feed Chennai Initiative, a coalition of NGOs and volunteers working (with due permissions from the state government) to provide food and essential groceries to daily wage working communities.

The Feed Chennai Initiative is currently serving 1,510 meals per day to feed 900 families.
