Your tamaiti may need awhi at first to read their pukapuka.

Help your child read their book 3 times, once they are finished sign the sheet on the side.

Whakaharatau te Arapū Māori, ka pānui te ākonga ngā pū, ngā kūoro, ngā kupu hoki mā te tohu ā matimati.

Tamariki who haven't yet grasped te arapū can practice this by pointing to each letter and saying the sound it makes.

Tamariki can practice reading the kūoro (eg: ha, he, hi, ho, hu) chart to help with fluency.

Tamariki can point to each word as they read and watch the books online, even if they are listening.
