Q1. Is it compulsory to perform Course registration through IIS for every semester?

Yes. It is a mandatory process to indicate your Preference of choice of subjects for all programmes offered in PTU.

Q2. What are Open choice Electives (OEC) Courses?

These are the elective courses offered by a University department outside the parent department.

Q3. How do we come to know about Open choice Electives ( OEC) subjects ?

Every semester, the list of choices of OEC courses will be identified and circulated.

For UG programme - You can choose them right from your fourth semester.

For PG Programme- you have to do it in your third semester itself compulsorily.

Q4. How many OEC courses have to be completed online through NPTEL / Swayam courses?

For UG courses: There are totally four OEC courses to be completed as per the regulation of which two of them have to be completed through online compulsorily.

For PG courses: Only One OEC Course is to be completed.

Q5. Is there any deadline for completing the OEC courses?

Yes. They have to be completed well in advance atleast by VII semester of the B.Tech Program and during III semester for PG programme.

Q6. What are Mandatory Audit Courses ( MAC) courses ?

MAC are zero credit courses which the students are required to attend and complete successfully for both UG and M.Tech programmes

Q7. Why are the bridge courses conducted ?

The main objective of the bridge course is to bridge the gap between subjects studied at Pre-university level and subjects they would be studying in Graduation.
